Polemi is the biggest village in the area with a population of over 1000 including about 100 British residents. It’s ideally situated between Paphos and Polis Polemi is a thriving village with a couple of banks, bakery, flower shop, 3 supermarkets, coffee houses and 2 tavernas.

There are 2 local wineries one and many more in the surrounding villages. In the neighbouring village of Stroumbi is a butcher, another bakery with several more tavernas, postal agent and the area police station. Whilst in Polemi you can bath away the hours admiring the fantastic views, or take in a round of golf in nearby Tsada or why not try to land a fish or two at the nearby Evretou Dam.

If you’re more interested in the history of the village, visit the cultural centre which was built in the 1100s and has been subsequently renovated, with many ancient artefacts. Maybe you’d like to take a drive and visit the Seat of Digenis at Kampos tis Rigenas. This is a piece of land that is said to resemble a human seat and is where Digenis sat while waiting to attack the Saracens who would loot and pillage the local houses.

Polemi would be an ideal choice if you wanted to combine traditional village life with the convenience and variety of a small town, yet have all the modern shops and night life a short drive away. The majority of all our visitors from the UK revisit us to once again enjoy Polemi and Summer Cottage Villa and we hope to see you soon...
